Here's what we were working with - a cracked, stained concrete floor that had clearly taken years of abuse. Oil marks, surface cracks running across the slab, the whole thing. It's one of the most common floors we see, and it's exactly the kind of job our full flake epoxy system was built for.
Before we lay down a single coat, the concrete gets properly prepped. That step is everything. Skipping it or rushing it is the number one reason garage floor coatings fail down the road - peeling, bubbling, the works. We don't cut corners there.
We went with our Creekbed flake blend on this one. It's a neutral mix of whites, grays, and earth tones that works well in just about any garage. The full broadcast flake system means the chips go down edge to edge, wall to wall, with no bare spots. Sealed with a polyaspartic topcoat, the finished floor is tough - resistant to hot tire pickup, chemicals, and daily wear.
The cove base detail along the walls is something worth pointing out too. It's a small thing that a lot of installers skip, but it seals the floor-to-wall transition and gives the whole space a much cleaner, finished look. That's just how we do it.
The result is a floor that can actually handle what gets thrown at it - and still looks sharp doing it. This Hastings garage went from worn-out to something the homeowner can genuinely be proud of. That's the whole point.
